Yoga For Slow Living   -  Gentle Yoga
These classes focus on the benefits of slowing down--on your yoga mat and in your life. Sessions offer a
balance of gentle movement, breath awareness and guided relaxation-- inviting a sense of relaxed
awareness through an exploration of the body/mind connection. "Yoga for Slow Living" practices include
techniques such as gentle movement, breathing exercises, meditation and guided and supported
relaxation. These tools can help to release physical tension, manage emotional and mental stress, increase
concentration, strength and flexibility. Practitioners often leave a class, returning to their daily lives feeling
more peaceful and rejuvenated. These practices are helpful for those working with injuries, chronic pain,
stress-related disorders, or simply the desire to slow down. Students are always encouraged to move at
their own pace.

Restoratve Yoga
As a therapeutic form of conscious relaxation, Restorative Yoga invites the body and mind to come into
balance through the use of passively held, supported yoga poses. This slow release of physical tension
and mental stress creates healing, integration, and an overall sense of well being. Restorative Yoga
presents the perfect antidote for many stress-related disorders arising from our day-to-day living.

"Finally Friday - Monthly Restorative Yoga"
Sometimes the weekend comes and goes and we haven’t really relaxed enough to enjoy it! On the final
Friday of each month, join Rhoda Miriam for a 90 minute end-of-the-week practice of relaxation and
renewal. Using blankets, bolsters and other props, students will experience a variety of passively held
supported yoga poses designed to invite total release of physical tension and mental stress. Leave the
week behind and prepare to enjoy your weekend feeling more fully relaxed and energized. See
schedule.

"Yoga For Slow Living Training and Retreat: Building a Restorative Practice"
Whether you are a Yoga teacher or a Yoga student wishing to expand your personal practice, this 5-hour
workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the benefits of Restorative Yoga.
Throughout the day Rhoda will facilitate your exploration and experience of the foundations of deep
relaxation, through the use of props (blankets, bolsters and yoga blocks) to support the reduction of
mental, physical and emotional tension. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which can be
used to satisfy Yoga Alliance continuing education (CE) requirements. See
schedule for date and place.

Yoga Therapy
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy applies techniques such as breath awareness, guided meditation and
supported movement and yoga postures to help clients focus on what's happening in the moment. By
reflecting upon and integrating the insights received during a session, there is an increased awareness of
the natural connection between the body, the mind and how you respond to the issues in your life. This co-
creative process allows clients to be actively and consciously involved at all levels. For those with limited
mobility, a session could be done easily in a chair, lying down or even standing. The intention is to support
self-discovery and self-empowerment, while offering an effective, safe and natural path to well being. For
more information, to schedule a session, or to sponsor a demo at your facility,

thoughts makes it possible to release stress and tension while consciously experiencing our human
existence. This workshop includes several gentle mindful practices and concludes with a complete Yoga
Nidra experience. This form of conscious relaxation is usually practiced lying on the floor (however, sitting in
a chair also works); mats and blankets are available.
